Indoor Outdoor

This look was inspired by Marc Jacobs and Chloe’ s spring 2010 collections. We have always loved the idea of  layering vintage nightgowns as dresses.  Adding a structured jacket is the perfect contrast for a day time look.

Outfit of the week styled by Alice-
This is my New York rooftop BBQ look. Wearing this makes me want to sit down with a burger and a Bud and enjoy spring in New York at its best. Simple, but fun, this could definitely be my every day look.

My Girl

Posted: May 13th, 2010 | By:

Here are some of our newest spring pieces inspired by one of my favorite movies growing up, My Girl. The look is  70s tom boy with playful accessories.  The muted pastels and light casual fabrics are great for spring and comfortable enough to ride your bike around the city with pals!

China is wearing a straw hat,  70’s pastel top, denim cut offs and eyelet cfvv

This is a ring by one of our newest jewelry designers Anna Marcell

70’s peasant blouse , wayfarer sunglasses and my fav pair of patchwork shorts

This ring by Rebekah Harris reminds me of the mood ring from the movie.

Outfit of the week-Where Have All The Cowboys Gone?

Posted: May 10th, 2010 | By:

Being from Montana I’m constantly attracted to the western style, but I’m a girly girl at heart and would prefer a dress over chaps any day. I like to picture myself in this outfit sitting on a big white porch and sipping ice tea until the cows come home.

For the past year the Americana look has become a prominent player in street fashion and i’m a huge fan! This summer i’m ready to hone in on the wild frontier/gold rush angle with bandanna prints, denim everything, leather, gingham and western yokes.

Nicollette is wearing a 70’s denim hat $32, vintage Todd Oldham jean jacket $95, white leather bustier $78, and bandanna printed hot pants $175.

Unveiling Gigi Burris X Screaming Mimis!

Posted: May 1st, 2010 | By:

For spring 2010, stylist and fashion editor favorite, Gigi Burris, a milliner from NYC, has produced a diffusion collection of headpieces exclusively for Screaming Mimis. The confectionery-cute collection, created with vintage hand-made materials imported from France, was designed with the trend-setting downtown girl in mind.

To celebrate the collaboration, Screaming Mimis and GrandLife NYC is serving up a garden party at The Yard at Soho Grand on May 2nd, 2010 from 3pm to 7pm. (it will also mark the opening of the yard for the season!) The fete will be hosted by It-Girl Vana Youngstein, Ms.Burris, and Nicollette Santos, with music curated by artist and musician wild child JR and SM’s own Alice Blythe.

Headpieces priced are at $85-$125
